This week’s Wrecking Wednesday takes us to Port Jervis, NY in Orange County where our Sessler Wrecking crew was tasked with demolishing a 135’ truss bridge and three condemned buildings in this two-phased project. The project-adjacent buildings were abated of asbestos and removed to make way for the bridge demolition.
On the bridge, our crew began by removing the 8.5″ thick concrete deck which spanned across the entire length of the 135’ truss bridge. During the demolition, our team of seasoned professionals had to maneuver around the temporary bridge to the east, force main sewer running under the river-bottom to the west, sewage pumping station to the southeast, and temporary utility bridge to the west.
