This project involved taking down the two-level pedestrian bridge that spanned over a 6-lane roadway in Yonkers, NY.

Steel girders were picked and removed followed by the concrete deck which was jack hammered.  The main girders and cross bracing in the center of the span were torch cut and hoisted up  and over the traffic signal utilizing a crane to safely place it in the designated landing area.

Sessler’s creativity, precision and teamwork was crucial as traffic signals and other utilities needed to be avoided while also allowing for traffic to be maintained, while also protecting the retaining wall.
