Route 23 Over Schoharie Creek, Prattsville, New York
It is our favorite day of the week, which means it is time for another Wrecking Wednesday! This week, Sessler Wrecking is highlighting a bridge demolition in Prattsville, NY.
Sessler Wrecking was tasked with removing the Route 23 bridge over Schoharie Creek in Greene County. The project presented unique challenges, as the new bridge was located only two feet away from the original structure.
To ensure a safe and precise demolition, our team executed a controlled drop of the truss using hydraulic shears. This method allowed us to direct the fall of the bridge frame away from the new bridge and into the creek below.
Additionally, we utilized a Sessler-engineered capture frame to prevent debris from entering the Schoharie Creek.
