RFK Bridge, New York, New York
This week, Sessler features the RFK Bridge demolition in New York City. The RFK Bridge connects Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx and sees nearly 200,000 vehicles per day.
Sessler Wrecking’s experienced team removed over 350,000 square feet of bridge deck and supporting structures. An additional 20,000 tons of concrete and 2,700 tons of steel cross beams, stringers and girders were saw cut from the bridge, as well as 320 bridge girders were picked.
Portions of this project were conducted during the evening and night hours to reduce conflicts with traffic.
