Rapid Bridge Replacement of I-90 Over Fuller Road, Albany, New York

It’s Wrecking Wednesday, and this week Sessler Wrecking is showcasing a multi-phase, rapid bridge replacement project on I-90 over Fuller Road located in Albany, NY!

Sessler Wrecking carried out this demolition over four consecutive weekends. Our team worked overnight with partial lane closures, removing concrete decks and beams during each phase.

Once the entire bridge superstructure was removed, we used heavy equipment to lift the steel off the piers and transport it to a recycling facility. In the final phase, we removed the last section of the bridge, keeping the decking attached to the steel, to make room for the new bridge. The new bridge was in place just days after the structure was fully removed.
