Muck Road Bridge, Rome, New York
You know the drill, it is time for Wrecking Wednesday, and we are bringing the heat! This week, Sessler Wrecking is shining the spotlight on a bridge demolition in Rome, New York!
Sessler Wrecking was tasked with performing the demolition of the Muck Road Bridge concrete arch, a project that required careful planning and execution to ensure the safety and protect surrounding infrastructure. Our crew began by installing erosion and sedimentation controls at the site to prevent environmental impact and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
Following the installation of these protective measures, Sessler crews removed the existing wingwalls to gain access to the primary structure. Using specialized excavators, the team then proceeded with the demolition of the concrete arch and bridge substructure. Throughout the operation, it was essential to safeguard the adjacent roadway from damage, requiring precision and close coordination on-site.
To complete the project, we imported backfill materials and regraded the surrounding slopes to restore the area and support future development or roadway enhancements. The successful execution of this demolition reflects our commitment to safety, environmental protection, and quality workmanship.
