Hospital Road Bridge Replacement Over NY RTE 27, Brookhaven, New York
The moment for Wrecking Wednesday has arrived! This week, Sessler Wrecking is showcasing a bridge replacement project over NY RTE 27 in Brookhaven, New York.
Sessler Wrecking was assigned the responsibility of the removal and disposal of the sidewalk, deck, and beams of the pre-existing bridge. Sessler crews conducted the deck removal followed by crane picks for the steel removal. Sessler also utilized under decking and our patented overhang brackets for the deck removal procedure.
The initiative of the project aims to alleviate the traffic congestion and resulting delays at the intersection of Hospital Road and Service Road.
Our bridge demolition experts had to work safely and efficiently to limit interfering with the traveling public, which meant that portions of the projects were to be conducted during the night hours to reduce conflict with traffic.
All demolished materials were recycled at an approved waste disposal site.
As always safety was the main priority, and this project was completed with zero injuries or safety incidents.
