Lights, camera, demolition!

It’s a special edition of Wrecking Wednesday, and you won’t want to miss this one! Grab a front-row seat as we premiere our latest project video, highlighting the demolition work our team performed at a former yogurt manufacturing plant in Norwich, New York.

As part of this large-scale project, Sessler Wrecking was responsible for demolishing 41 buildings spanning approximately 360,000 square feet.  Structures ranged from one to two stories and included nine asbestos-containing buildings that required controlled demolition due to abatement constraints.

The project also included the removal of five above-ground storage tanks, interconnected pipe racks, utility poles, generators, trees, and brush across the site.

In total, crews recycled approximately 3,600 tons of scrap steel and processed 2,070 tons of clean concrete. Following demolition, extensive site restoration was completed, including backfilling basements and voids with approximately 5,000 tons of material, returning the property to a level grade for future redevelopment.

Watch the video to learn more about this project and see our team in action!
