Midweek means one thing: it is time for Wrecking Wednesday! This week, Sessler Wrecking is spotlighting demolition of the former Seneca Knitting Mill in Seneca Falls, New York—now the home of the National Women’s Hall of Fame.

Sessler Wrecking was brought in to perform selective demolition and site preparation to support future construction. The project posed significant challenges: the structure was already collapsing from the roof down, causing the walls to bow outward. Our experienced operators used precise demolition methods to safely remove the upper floors and unstable walls, preventing a full collapse into the roadway, canal, or nearby buildings.

Our team preserved the historic smokestack for future incorporation into the building’s renovation, and recycled all demolished brick, except for a portion of clean, original brick saved for reuse. To complete the job, we also provided grading, backfill, and seeding services, preparing the site for the impressive facility that stands today.
