WATERLOO — L.M. Sessler Wrecking, one of the Finger Lakes’ stronghold companies, has expanded its operations into North Carolina.

The new office is in Rock Hill, near Charlotte. It is opening about the same time that a project to add physical space to Sessler’s headquarters on Route 96 is being completed.

The local construction is further evidence that the 66-year-old firm, while growing into a new region, is still firmly committed to keeping its roots in Seneca County.

Bruce Sherman, Sessler’s director of Business Development and Marketing, noted Sessler Wrecking’s significant growth in recent years. Sherman said the company’s rising number, diversity and location of clients suggested that opening a new division in the Southeast would be beneficial.

The move bolsters the business’ existing services and team, enhancing its capabilities across all their markets, Sherman added.

The company is adding two industry veterans to its team: Mark Frank and Ed Vernier, both of whom will work out of the North Carolina office. As the office becomes more established, Sessler will be looking to hire more people from that area, Sherman said.

In Waterloo, the company employs about 250 people.

Frank will direct the Southeast Division, bringing more than 30 years of experience in the sector. With his leadership, Sessler expects to excel in estimation and project direction within the new division. He will supervise the estimation, bidding, and project management aspects of all projects in the Southeast. His role involves offering direction to guarantee the timely and cost-effective completion of each project.

Frank’s bio indicates he has three decades of experience in establishing, implementing, directing, and providing oversight of division and regional goals related to large-scale structural, interior demolition, and environmental projects nationwide in the demolition and environmental services industry.

Meanwhile, Vernier steps in as the director of Southeast Operations, boasting 35 years of executive management experience. His role encompasses overseeing all aspects of the Southeast Division, drawing on his extensive background in demolition and rigging industries.

In this role, Vernier will provide oversight in estimating, bidding, and managing all aspects of Sessler Wrecking’s Southeast Division. He will monitor all on-site operations and manage field staff to ensure the successful and safe completion of each project within the allocated time and budget.

Vernier is a member and serves on the board of directors of the National Demolition Association. He is the treasurer on the NDA’s executive board.

Together, Frank and Vernier have led numerous successful large-scale projects nationwide.

Since 1958, Sessler Wrecking has maintained a commitment to investing in state-of-the-art equipment, staying current with the latest technology, means and methods, and prioritizing safety.
