The calendar says Wednesday. We say Wrecking Wednesday. This week, we are shining the spotlight on the demolition of the East Parcel Viaduct in Sleepy Hollow, New York!

Sessler Wrecking was tasked with removing 16,000 square feet of deteriorated bridge over and adjacent to the active Metro-North Railroad’s Hudson Line. The project had a strict timeline of 90 days, with demolition affecting railroad operations restricted to an early morning window of just three hours.

Our crew saw cut and removed the deck in sections and performed more than 70 crane picks from three separate locations.

Limited access, nearby residences, and a steeply sloped approach with a deteriorated retaining wall added to the challenge. This project showcased the planning, precision, and teamwork that Sessler Wrecking brings to complex bridge demolition!
