Demolition of 27 Thurway Rest Stops, New York State
It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means – time for another Wrecking Wednesday update!
This week, Sessler Wrecking is spotlighting a large-scale project that showcases our versatility and trusted capabilities in the demolition industry.
For the second time in our company’s history, we were selected to demolish and prepare a network of New York State Thruway Rest Areas for redevelopment — a clear testament to our decades of experience and reputation for reliability.
This extensive project involved the demolition of 27 rest stops, including 23 full-site demolitions and four interior projects. Each full-site demolition averaged just eight days, resulting in shovel-ready locations for future construction and upgrades.
Our scope of work included structural demolition, interior & select demolition, foundation removal, and backfill — delivering complete site preparation services with precision and efficiency.
We’re proud to have played a key role in this multi-year modernization effort and to continue setting the standard for safe, effective demolition projects wherever the work takes us.
