It is time for another edition of Wrecking Wednesday! This week, Sessler Wrecking is spotlighting the demolition of the abandoned Jericho Road Bridge for CSX Transportation located at their Selkirk Yard in Bethlehem, NY.

Sessler Wrecking acted as the general contractor for this project, dismantling the 12-span steel bridge spanning over 1,132 feet. The bridge crossed 39 active railroad tracks and a diesel fueling track. During the demolition, we salvaged 1,100 gross tons of steel and excavated and removed 40,000 cubic yards of material.

This project presented a unique challenge as access to the active railroad tracks was limited to 30 minutes. Our team effectively managed this hurdle, enabling us to complete the project successfully.
