Castleton-On-Hudson Bridge, Selkirk, New York
This project consisted of the complete replacement of the westbound concrete bridge deck and center median, over a mile in length and over 40 feet wide. Sessler Wrecking conducted the removal of 217,250 square feet (approximately 4 and a half football fields) of deck on top of the superstructure. Removals included reinforced concrete, exodermic and open steel grid deck, along with some stringer and floorbeam removal in the open grid deck areas.
Each day, Sessler had a specified amount that was required to be removed to meet tight scheduling requirements set for the job. Sessler was able to adhere to the proposed schedule and finish in the allotted time. Â Meeting and exceeding expectations is what makes Sessler Wrecking an industry leader in bridge demolition.
By completing the removal of the existing deck safely and efficiently, Sessler’s contributions to rehabilitating this major bridge will bring the condition of the bridge up to current standards.
