This week’s Wrecking Wednesday we highlight the first phase of demolition at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center in Canandaigua, NY.  The first phase of the project included the select interior demolition and exterior demolition of multiple building structures, with attached tunnel structures which connected buildings.  The buildings that were being demolished were going to be upgraded to be made into new patient rooms, as well as rooms for other medical use at the center, so our demolition work needed to be precise as the structures were butting up to others existing structures.

Once the structures and tunnels were removed, our crew removed the concrete slabs below, and removed a smaller storage structure and ramp.  During our demolition, the VA asked our team to salvage some of the original brick and wall structure, as they were looking to include it into their upgrade facility when complete—our team safely left the wall intact and provided salvaged brick for the new development.

Sessler looks to join the Canandaigua VA Medical Center later this year to provide turn-key solutions during a larger phase two plan.
