It’s that time again – Wrecking Wednesday! This week, Sessler Wrecking is shining a spotlight on a tank demolition in Astoria, New York.
Sessler Wrecking was entrusted with the controlled demolition of the Astoria tank at the Astoria Generating Station. In addition to the demolition, our crew removed approximately 2,800 tons of non-hazardous soil from the site, ensuring proper disposal at a regulated landfill while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
This project required close coordination with the NYC Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) and the NYC Department of Buildings (NYC DOB). Our team worked together with these agencies to ensure that all regulatory requirements and safety standards were thoroughly met.
