Another week, another look behind the wrecking. Wrecking Wednesday is back! This week, we’re taking you behind the wrecking and onto the job site for a closer look at the work that went into demolishing Mohawk Valley Health Systems in Utica, New York!

Sessler Wrecking demolished and remediated 25 buildings across four city blocks, with structures ranging from one to five stories.

The work included asbestos abatement, soil remediation, backfill, and site preparation for the next phase of development. Site work also included utility disconnections, along with traffic, noise, and dust control, while our team consolidated waste streams to reduce construction debris and exceed the project’s recycling goals.

As part of one of the Northeast’s highest-profile healthcare projects, the work required extensive coordination with local and state agencies to keep the project moving safely and efficiently.
