Silo Tank, Hudson, New York
Your weekly demolition fix is here with a brand-new Wrecking Wednesday. This week, Sessler Wrecking is highlighting the demolition of a steel tank in Hudson, New York!
Sessler Wrecking was tasked with the controlled demolition of a 150-foot elevated steel tank, formerly used as a dry concrete bulk storage silo, located just feet from the Hudson River and approximately 100 feet from an adjacent building. The project demanded meticulous planning, precise execution, and strict adherence to safety protocols.
Following an engineer-stamped directional felling plan, our team carried out the demolition with controlled torch-cutting and carefully coordinated pulling operations, safely bringing the tank down within the designated fall zone.
All asbestos-containing materials were managed under a NYSDOL-approved variance, and the remaining steel was processed on site and recycled through a local scrap facility.
