It is time for another action-packed Wrecking Wednesday! This week, Sessler Wrecking is highlighting the demolition of the Pedestrian Footbridge at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York!

Sessler Wrecking was tasked with removing a three-span footbridge located at the center of Hamilton College to make way for upgrades to one of the campus’s busiest pathways, improving safety, accessibility, and pedestrian flow. The bridge crossed a ravine containing a small stream, requiring the team to take extra precautions to protect the surrounding environment.

In addition to these environmental considerations, the existing bridge foundations were being retained and needed careful protection throughout the demolition process.

The project demanded careful planning and precise execution to safely remove the bridge while protecting the surrounding environment and preserving the existing structural elements.
