Winthrop University, Rock Hill, SC
It is Wednesday, which means it’s time for a special edition of Wrecking Wednesday and the premiere of our full-length project video! This week, Sessler Wrecking is highlighting a building demolition project in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Sessler Wrecking was tasked with the controlled mechanical demolition of two 9-story dormitory buildings, Wofford Hall and Richardson Hall, at Winthrop University. To complete this intricate task, we utilized a CAT 352 98-foot Ultra High Reach excavator, ensuring both safety and accuracy throughout the demolition.
In addition to the demolition, our team handled asbestos abatement, backfilling, grading, site preparation, and the demolition of various utilities.
Our team expertly managed the unique challenges of working on an active campus, including maintaining student access to parking and nearby buildings, ensuring the safety and structural integrity of adjacent buildings, and protecting the fire pumps that serviced the entire university.
Watch the video to learn more about this unique project and see our team in action!
