Welcome to another edition of Wrecking Wednesday! This week, Sessler Wrecking is highlighting a bridge demolition in South Abington, Pennsylvania.

Sessler Wrecking was tasked with demolishing a 204-foot-long precast concrete box beam bridge spanning Interstate 81. This specific bridge was part of a larger multi-phase rapid replacement project across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The 4-span concrete bridge, supported by three piers, required safe and swift demolition to avoid disrupting traffic on the busy interstate. Over two consecutive nights, our crews successfully hammered down all four spans.

Sand and metal plates were strategically laid down to protect the road infrastructure below, facilitating an efficient cleanup within a tight removal window.

As always, safety was our team’s top priority, and this project was completed without any injuries or incidents.
