East Hughes Street Bridge Over the Genesee River, Belfast, New York
We’ve reached the midpoint of the first week of 2024, and it’s time for the inaugural Wrecking Wednesday of the year! Sessler Wrecking is showcasing the demolition of the East Hughes Street Bridge over the Genesee River in Belfast, New York.
The closure of this bridge to the public was necessary due to the compromised structural stability, posing a significant risk to the overall integrity of the bridge. Sessler Wrecking was entrusted with the task of demolishing the bridge’s substructure to pave the way for the construction of a new bridge.
Executing work over the Genesee River required our crews to exercise meticulous attention to prevent debris from entering the water. Safety measures were diligently implemented to address this concern.
True to our commitment, our exceptional crew successfully wrapped up this project on schedule and without any safety incidents.
