Rundel Library Terrace, Rochester, New York
Wrecking Wednesday this week highlights a downtown Rochester, NY infrastructure project located along South Avenue and Broad Street.
The sidewalk/terrace presented itself as a 26″+ concrete structure that had failing support beams underneath, which needed to be fully demolished to preserve the safety of pedestrians and surrounding buildings.
Our Sessler Wrecking crew hammered the concrete down to the ground while navigating through a 3/4 mile access tunnel, where we loaded the concrete and shipped it out to an approved disposal facility.
During the demo, our crew carefully removed a retaining wall along the Genesee River, while monitoring the adjacent Rundel Library structure. The bridge will be rebuilt and used for pedestrian and tourist traffic.
