This week’s Wrecking Wednesday, our bridge team headed up north to Weathersfield, VT, to complete a concrete deck removal of the 3-span, southbound lane of I-91 over VT-131. The bridge deck was scheduled to be replaced, so our team had to use precision saw-cutting techniques to ensure that the cuts along the deck were deep enough to separate the concrete and rebar, but not deep enough where there would be damage to the three continuous girders below. The crew safely cut, removed, and later disposed of the concrete deck at an approved facility.
