Sessler Wrecking is looking for an experienced Estimator & Project Manager.   

Over the past 65 years, Sessler Wrecking has grown into one of the largest turn-key Building, Bridge, & Industrial Demolition specialists in the country. We are seeking a candidate to support the Building and Industrial Demolition Division of Sessler Wrecking. This opportunity will be working in an exciting and high-growth environment focusing on overseeing Project Estimating and Project Management.

Sessler Wrecking’s corporate headquarters is in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York.  This position would require some travel; therefore, consideration will be given to a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reports to the Director of Building & Industrial Demolition – able to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment on the following major tasks:
    •  Estimating:
      • Interpret bid documents, perform site visits, perform detailed takeoff calculations, determine production factors, generate a detailed estimate for senior leadership to review. Use of B2W Estimating & Bidding Software experience is preferred.
      • Present bid risk analysis scenarios to the management team.
      • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain competitive bid pricing.
      • Ability to develop content such as technical work plans, project schedules to meet Proposal Requirements.
      • Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and subcontractors.
      • May perform other duties as necessary or assigned.
    • Project Management
      • Collaborating with the management team throughout a project’s life cycle.
      • Cultivating and maintaining client relationships.
      • Contract review risk analysis.
      • Analyze and interpret detailed specifications and drawings in order to recommend project specific effective demolition processes and production goals to the project team.
      • Evaluate sub/vendor quotes, make award determinations, and generate subcontractor agreements.
      • Ability to monitor and successfully balance project scheduling and financial goals.
      • May perform other duties as necessary or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous site work estimating, building demolition estimating, and project management is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering, construction management, or any closely related field.
  • Proficient in mathematics, statistics, and attention to detail with a high standard for accuracy, organization, flexibility, and time management.
  • Must be able to multi-task at a high level and demonstrate skillset in quantity takeoff, project estimating, technical writing, and strategic planning.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (especially Excel and Word) as well as Bluebeam, Adobe or AutoCAD and experience with scheduling and estimating software (MS Project, B2W Estimate, etc.).


  • Salary: $50,000-$100,000
